When you lose electricity in a storm, do you light the candles or turn on the flashlight? How many of each do you own?
I love to have a room lit by candlelight, so candles are always my first choice in a power cut. I have a lot of them! We also have a pair of old oil lamps that we light if we need it to be a little brighter. I have a handful of torches around the house but they tend to be used just to find the lighter.
You are given $5,000 and the chance to exchange it for one of two envelopes. One envelope contains $50,000 and one contains $500. Do you make the trade? Why or why not?
I’d like to say I’d make the exchange, that I had nothing to start with so even $500 dollars would be a bonus and there’s the chance of getting $50,000! But if it came down to it I’d probably be a coward and keep the $5,000.
What’s your first memory?
When I was about three we moved into a new house. It had been left full of all sorts of junk and my parents had to clear it out. I remember finding a pair of old 3D glasses – the cardboard ones with the red and blue lenses. I thought they were great but my mum took them off me as soon as she could because they were really dirty and horrible, or so she tells me.
What do you do if you can’t sleep at night? Do you count sheep, toss and turn, or get up and try to do something?
It’s quite rare that I can’t sleep but on those odd occasions I’ll usually play a game on my kindle for a while. Currently I have Carcasonne as my game of choice but the best ones for getting me to sleep are games like Farmville. I always doze off while waiting for crops to grow or items to be crafted. That’s not always a good thing – I’ve missed so many deadlines on that game because I’ve fallen asleep while waiting!
I didn’t think I was going to manage to put a post up today. I had to work rather unexpectedly which put a bit of a damper on my idea of spending the day writing! When I got home this evening my imagination just didn’t want to cooperate, not even for a 100 word flash fic. Then I remembered that, as well as all her photography challenges Cee also hosts this wonderful little Share Your World challenge. Perfect! So here you go. 🙂
