On day 276 of 365 Days Wild I spent some time creating a bee picture.
First I drew a bee, using ink pen and some ink crayon applied with a paint brush. This time I drew a white tailed bumblebee from behind, using random pictures from Google as reference. There’s just something irresistible about a bumblebee bum!

Next I wandered out to the bank beside the lane where the Red Dead-nettles are growing profusely. I selected just a handful of sprigs for my picture. Even though there are lots, I took just one from each patch of them that I passed. I wouldn’t want to deprive other passerbys, or the wildlife, of their wonder.
Once I returned home I added the flowers to the picture, arranging them around the bee and then photographing them.

Thanks. I’ve seen quite a few bee bums recently. Those bees that have emerged are not hanging around for long!
