On day 240 of 365 Days Wild I wandered down to the Nature Project for an afternoon walk.
Mainly I wanted to see the green shoots down by the dyke. I’d snapped a picture or two of these for day 239’s Signs of Spring, but they were a bit out of focus so they ended up being discarded. On day 240, I thought I’d try again. There are so many of them that I might have got a little carried away. I think that they might be the daffodils, which usually create a beautiful display along the bank of the dyke in about March. I can hardly wait to see them all in bloom.

I also spent some time looking in the meadow hedgerows. A stray Hogweed seed in amongst the remnants of last year’s growth caught my eye.

I also spotted what I think are a pair of Oak Marble Galls in one of the hedgerow oaks.

I snapped a final few pictures on the lanes and over the fields as I walked home. I had intended to stay outside to watch the sunset, which the interesting breakages in the clouds suggested might be a nice one, unfortunately I found myself dealing with the onset of a migraine. I decided that it would be best to deal with that instead!

Have you been on any nature walks recently? Let me know in the comments.
Your usual good sets – and perseverance paid off with the bulbs.
