November Wildflowers

Hedge Woundwort (Stachys sylvatica)

On day 162 of 365 Days Wild I went out wildflower spotting.

Despite now being a third of the way through November – a time of year that is usually characterised by rapidly increasing winter chills – incredibly, there are still wildflowers continuing to bloom on the grass verges around the village lanes.

The sun emerged only very briefly whilst I was out, so, unfortunately, many of the pictures that I took of them are sadly lacking in clarity. Identifications are included in the captions.

That’s all for today. Are there any wildflowers in bloom where you are. I’d love to know. Just leave a comment below.

  1. i spent a bit of sunday and monday early mornings out in the “yard” clicking away as the light was casting nicely on the leaves which had some left over water drops on them. it was quite cold (mid 30s) and i think it affected my focus of my camera as many of my shots were out of focus even though it said it was in focus. sigh…. at least it was not film. lol

    1. I find it so frustrating to flick through sets of out of focus shots that you’re sure were in focus when you took them. My problem tends to be a lack of light stripping back clarity rather than the temperature affecting the focus. At least with digital photography you can just delete them all! I hope you managed to find a few good shots in the end. πŸ˜€
