she rests in gentle repose, a spirit
of eager curiosity, shining brightly,
her wings held out in readiness for
flight into a promised future crafted
from the fabric of early morning
dreams, aglow in anticipation
This post is for day 83 of 365 Days Wild.
There aren’t many days of fair weather currently showing on the weather forecasts, so I was determined to get out for a dawn walk on one of the few ‘sunny interval’ mornings being shown. The sky was filled with lovely pink clouds when I left the house at 5.45am.
By the time I reached the lane by the meadow, the sun was rising above the horizon and the colours had deepened into rich shades of orange and gold.
The sun, glimpsed through holes in the hedgerow, was a beautiful sight.
I wasn’t the only one watching the dawn. This Mottled Grasshopper was, too!
I spotted lots more insect life around the meadow as I wandered. Here are the few that didn’t either fly or scurry away when I tried to photograph them. The green damselfly is, I think, am Emerald Willow Damselfly, and it was the first of them that I’ve ever spotted in the meadow.
Here are a few other pictures that I took in the meadow during my early morning walk.
That’s all for today. See you again, later!
Beautiful photos 🙂

Seconded! You are obviously much lighter of foot than I am!

An awesome collection of photos. The Emerald Willow Damselfly is lovely, and the ‘spirit wings’ cloud formation at the beginning is amazing.
