warm sun on my face,
birdsong in my ears,
peace settled in my soul:
what more could I need?

On day 327 of 365 Days Wild I walked down to the dandelion filled nature project.
The birds were singing in the hedgerows, bees were meandering between flowers, and butterflies were flying their patrols around the space.
I spotted the first of the Speckled Wood butterflies, newly emerged in the warming weather. For most of my outing I had no luck in photographing them – until I was about to leave the meadow, anyway. This butterfly flew twice around my head before settling in the hedge right next to me, in a perfect position for being photographed.

Have you been out and about recently? Let me know in the comments below.
I’d like to think she recognised your love and decided to reward your patience!
