On day 298 of 365 Days Wild I wandered down to the Nature Project to see what changes are being brought about by the warming Spring days.
There’s lots of fresh greenery now appearing in the little woodland area. It’s such a beautiful colour to see and always lifts my spirits. It tells me that better days lie ahead.

The daffodils are also now opening their trumpet flowers beside the pond and along the bank of the dyke. These bright yellow blooms are wonderful heralds of Spring.

The snowdrop flowers have all faded away now, but amongst the leaves their swollen seed heads can be found.

As I walked home I spotted a tortoiseshell butterfly that was enjoying the celandines on the grass verge. Each time I got a little too close it flew on to a new perch, but I managed to get just close enough to snap a couple of pictures.

Have you been out on any nature walks recently? Let me know in the comments below.
Nicely photographed – especially the tortoiseshell

Thanks, Derrick. It was not easy to get a picture of it at all. 😆
