In the Village

Day 250 of 365 Days Wild was dull and intermittently rainy. I was fortunate enough to time my walk during a dry spell.

My daily walk took me along the streets of the village, where the damp moss growing on the walls caught my eye – or, more precisely, the droplets clinging to it did.

There were also a few patches of lichen that I couldn’t resist photographing.

Our village is so small that it doesn’t take long to reach the outskirts, no matter which direction I walk in.

A flock of gulls took flight from a field beside the lane at the edge of the village and wheeled overhead as I walked by.

The sun was trying to break through whilst I was out and about, though it did little other than brighten a small patch of sky. Not long after I returned home the clouds closed back up again. By the time sunset arrived there was no sign of the sun at all, and it passed the horizon unobserved. I was glad that I’d captured a final shot over the field behind our house before I headed inside.

Where have you been walking recently? Let me know in the comments.
