CEach year, around the globe, millions of people, businesses, and landmarks set aside an hour to host events, switch off their lights, and make noise for climate change action.
This year Earth Hour is at 8:30pm local time on 24 March 2018.
In 2017, Earth Hour saw a record-breaking 187 countries and territories taking a stand against climate change. More than 3,000 iconic landmarks turned off their lights, over 7000 cities switched off the illuminations on historic buildings, advertisements, and store windows, and more than 300 global companies pledged to reduce their carbon footprint. Around 60 Members of the European Parliament, including the chair of the ENVI Committee, also pledged to take climate action.
