After having April off from Robyn’s One-Four Challenge, I’m back with my entry for week one of May. It took me quite a long time to decide which image I wanted to use for this month – even though I thought I knew until I actually started editing. Five or so pictures later I finally land on this one. I hope you all like it.

For this first edit I wanted to keep it quite simple. I began by opening the image in Camera Raw where I very slightly increased highlights and shadows, clarity and vibrancy. I wanted to emphasize the different textures and colours of the wood and rusty metal. I then opened it in Photoshop Elements 13 where I cropped a little off the top, bottom and right hand side, and I finished off by running the sharpen tool lightly over the lock.
Whilst I have several ideas for future edits, any suggestions are gratefully received.
Here’s the original:

great detail and texture!

This is a great image for the challenge, I can already see four ways I would approach it. Can’t wait to see the next edit.
