Winter Sleep
Winter’s chill
creeps and
the urge to sleep
engulfs
nature’s domain,
with earthen blankets
overlaid with the
softest of
white coverlets
concealing
dormant heads,
as life retreats
from frosty air to
await
the sun’s return.

Here and now, with all of it.
I really like the flow and pace of it!

Thank you! 🙂 I actually wasn’t too sure about the flow of the poem, so I’m glad you like it. I originally wrote it at the beginning of December simply about the winter months. With pairing it with photographs showing snow I had to add in an extra line and it feels a little cumbersome to me now – but that could just be because I’m used to reading it without that part!

Oh, that is so beautiful!! I love the pictures and the poem, and the puddle in the foreground of the first picture – it’s just so bright and shiny, and peaceful 🙂
