Colourful Skies

Day 177 of 365 Days Wild was a dull and overcast day that was only enlivened by bursts of colour at dawn and dusk.

I watched the dawn from my window. Even on days when I don’t get out for an early morning walk, I like to watch the sun rise over the buildings and trees opposite our own. I’m very fortunate to live in a place that gives me such views.

There was a lovely dappling of pink in the sky before the sun appeared.

Once the sun appeared the clouds shifted into an array of golden hues.

With the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, now being only a few weeks away, it seems like barely any time had passed before dusk was upon us. Sunrise occurred at 7:45am. Sunset was at 3:55pm, only a smidgen more than 8 hours later.

I watched the sunset from the bottom of the garden, over the field behind our house. I even managed to catch a few sunbeams as the sun sank towards the horizon.

Once the sun vanished from sight, the colours briefly deepened before fading away into the darkness of the approaching night.

That’s all for today. Have you watched the sun rise or set recently? Let me know in the comments!
