He’d tried many different jobs over the years – so many, he’d lost track – but nothing had ever inspired him to such passion. Not like this. Standing in the arena, surrounding by screaming fans: he couldn’t imagine a more perfect life.

This post is for Sonya’s Three Line Tales. This week’s prompt is by Arnaud Mesureur via Unsplash.

I’m curious to know what you think the character is doing in the arena. Is he a sports star? A pop idol? Or maybe he’s selling hot dogs in the stands? The perfect life comes in many shapes and forms…

  1. My first thought was a gladiator-type arena. It may be that I’ve been reading too much dark stuff lately…;)

  2. He’s a roadie. He loves travelling around the country and lugging huge speakers around, you see.

  3. I too imagined a gladiator but then the life of gladiator is never perfect. Hmmm.. Let me think again 🙂

  4. I think, perhaps he is one that sells things since it is mentioned that he has had many different jobs over the years…he probably feels the excitement of the crowd and enjoys the thrill of being a part of it and helping them enjoy it as well by offering something like food or some type of merchandise.
