Throughout June I’m continuing to take part in the Wildlife Trusts 30 Days Wild challenge, a yearly event that encourages people to get out into nature and to perform a random act of wildness in order to strengthen their connection with the natural world.
Here are my random acts of wildness for days 6-10:
Day 6: the fascination of clouds
Most of these last 5 days have been characterised by rain, so I’ve actually been dodging raindrops all week, but day 6 of 30 Days Wild had some wonderfully dramatic clouds rolling through that I just had to spend some time photographing.
just give me a blue sky and
some daisies, some birdsong
and the buzz and click and
burr of flitting insects among
a froth of pink and gold
grasses, whilst damselflies
dance with predatory grace
and butterflies bask with
wings wide on red clover,
bees trundling amidst newly
bristling knapweed, all in a
green space brimming with
life, and as serenity embraces
me, happiness shall be mine
Beautiful pictures Louise. I’ve been trying to get shots of Swifts but no luck at all so far. I’ll persevere!

Thanks, Peter. And keep trying – perseverance is definitely key. 😆 I took such a ridiculous number of blurry or empty shots!

Thanks for sharing your lovely shots- that fuzzy periwinkle butterfly/moth is my favorite, I think! I love the idea of spending a month with nature- maybe the animals will be extra willing to be spotted when we drive through the mountains next week?!

Thanks for visiting, Anne! I’ve been really enjoying my 30 days wild. I actually look forward to it coming around every year, and with being off work this year, it’s even more enjoyable than usual.
