out where nature’s solitude
soothes rampant fears of social
interaction and sickness, out
where the daffodils and bluebells
merrily sway, life blooms in
swelling melodies as birdsong
choruses greet dawn’s touch
in cascading exhalations of
ecstatic joy trilled from atop
branches festooned in verdant
growth; where the rumble of a
distant tractor, a pheasant’s
croak, a barking dog, a church
bell’s doleful chime, all sound
in percussive accompaniment
to the buzz of an inquisitive
bee, the scrabbling passage
of a squirrel and the scuffing
tumble of rabbits amidst tufted
plants, each adding their own
part to a unique symphony, out
where nature’s solitude soothes
fears of social interaction and
sickness, out where the daffodils
and the bluebells merrily sway

Spring has well and truly arrived in the little woodland area. Being in lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic, I’ve actually been visiting it even more frequently than I usually do. My daily walk always includes a wander down the tree lined path to the pond and stream at the end. I’m fortunate to live in such a quiet place that I rarely encounter anyone else while I’m out. It’s great to be able to connect with the Earth and to absorb the calm that it can offer.
Here are some more pictures that I’ve recently taken.
Oh my this has my heart.
