Midwinter’s Eve

Day 203 of 365 Days Wild was Midwinter’s Eve. I ventured out to watch the sun set over the fields to the edge of the village.

It had been sunny for most of the day but, just as I left the house, a big, black cloud moved in to obscure the western sky.

For a while I wondered whether there would be any sunset interest at all, but the clouds broke apart in time for some colour to excite the sky.

It wasn’t just the sky to the west that gained some sunset colour. Lovely pink tones spread over the eastern horizon, too.

The last of the sunset colours played out across the sky as I walked the final stretch towards home.

That’s all for today. Happy Midwinter Solstice to anyone who celebrates it!
