Catching Sunbeams

follow a trail of sunbeams as wandering

footsteps tread pathways along hedgerows

and fencelines, through boundaries and divides:

with an open mind embracing liminality and

an open heart straddling possibility, existence

is suspended in the in between: seeking true

wealth in understanding; desiring unity

Sometimes I get a little carried away with photographing the sun bursting through the trees. I love the lens flare and the magical effect it has on pictures. My walk on day 100 of 365 Days Wild was in the early evening, just as we shifted into the golden hour when the sun was low in the sky, and I just couldn’t resist.

I also couldn’t resist photographing the toadstools. There are so many of them about at the moment! These were all spotted inside the little woodland area, down near the stream.

That’s all for today. Have you been out on any nature walks recently?

  1. It’s amazing how many different types of fungi you have spotted around here this year, Louise. I’m sure there weren’t that many last year. Great photos and a lovely poem.

  2. I don’t know if it is a country wide thing, but we had a bumper crop of blackberries this year and they all seem to have dried up and perished. Lack of rain perhaps? The acorns have also dropped very early this year.

    1. I’ve noticed that here, too. We had an incredibly dry early summer and its effect can be seen. I haven’t bothered to go blackberry picking, just left what there was for the birds. 💚
