greens fade into honey
tones as hedgerows
take on autumnal hues,
the wheel turning ever
onwards as the bounds
of the year guide halcyon
days bathed in sun rays
towards their inevitable
demise, as the fruits of
a year’s endeavours are
consumed and the seeds
of future dreams are
scattered into fertile soil
For day 71 of 365 Days Wild I walked along the meadow hedgerow. The autumnal vibes to be found there were particularly appealing in the muggy 30°c (86°f) temperatures of summer. While I love the light to be found in sunny weather, I really can’t deal with the heat!
Here are some of the other pictures that I took:
I came across an oak today with a huge amount of knopper oak gall.

There seems to be a lot of it about this year. Either that or I’m noticing it a lot more, which is possible! Thanks for visiting, Peter, and sorry for the delay in replying. So many things to do, so few hours in the day! 🙄💚😊

Thanks, Shweta. 💚 This is one of those points on the calendar when I can most clearly sense the turning of the wheel of the year, along with the awakening of early Spring. I love feeling those autumnal vibes!

That wheel s certainly turning, as your lovely photos show. Your poem is wonderfully descriptive. Great choice of words. ❤
