This post is for the Weekly Photo Challenge. This week’s theme is harmony.
Exultant voice trills
Joining triumphant chorus
Harmony embraced
I encountered this incredibly tame robin when I was down at the stream last week. He flew from branch to branch in the tree above the bench where I like to stop to write, singing his head off. I wrote the haiku as listened to him. As soon as I saw this week’s WPC theme I knew exactly which pictures I was going to use!
Here are a few other shots of him:
So cute. You really got a great serie of pictures of him.

Thanks, Lena. 🙂 He was easy to get good photos of – he was barely a few feet away from me!

I’ve never come across one so tame before, though I was chatting with someone online just last week who had a robin feeding out of his hand!

I think he liked being photographed! He flew away several times only to come back a few minutes later to settle even closer to me. Thanks for visiting. 🙂

Thanks, Ameena. That’s actually my favourite shot as well but I wanted the main ones on the post to show him singing!

Excellent close-ups! They’re such lovely looking birds – you’re the third person (including myself) that has had a recent encounter with a very tame robin. We walked down the river near us and they were everywhere. Never seen so many or so close!

I’m glad you like them, Haylee. 🙂 I love robins and have managed to catch a few shots of them before but I’ve never had them willing to come so close. Maybe this is a good year for seeing them!

That robin looks very energetic. Absolutely love the last shot. Well timed as its spreading its wing, ready to take flight. He doesn’t even look like he noticed you. Even if he did, I think he would like all the attention he was getting 😀

I thought that as well but a number of people have now told me they’ve had similar encounters with them this year. They seem to be getting bolder! I’m glad you like the pictures. Thanks for visiting, Aletta. 🙂
