This post is for the Weekly Photo Challenge. This week’s theme is State of Mind and we’re asked to share pictures that reflect our emotions at the time we took the photograph. I often take pictures of reflections on water – I love to look at them as you do clouds, finding images in the play of light and shadow. The images I find very much depend on my state of mind at the time. The day I took these two pictures I was obviously not in the most positive mental state!
Drowning in
a churning morass
of fears and insecurities,
modern day demons
clutching, grasping, tearing
at your spirit.
Great photos! And the images I was able to see in them went along with your poem. Wonderful!

They were pretty cool looking with weird images in them.

Very abstract and dreamlike images. Very nice poem too.

Thank you, Lena. It’s the abstract and dreamlike look of reflections that I find so appealing. 🙂 I’m very glad you like them.

Wonderful poem, just right for your photos. I like photographing reflections too, especially those warped by ripples in the surface.

Thanks, Desley. I’m glad you like the poem. I had a lot of last year where I wrote very little poetry so I’m enjoying writing it again. 🙂 You can always find something interesting to photograph intersections on water!

I agree. I’d like to do some more writing this year too.

SImply exquisite photographs and poem (and I, too, love taking pictures of water — I find its motions and its stillness endlessly absorbing)!

Exactly! It can be quite hypnotic. 🙂 I’m glad you like both the pictures and the poem. Thanks for visiting.
