Here’s my week three edit for Robyn’s One-Four Challenge. This challenge asks that you edit the same picture in four ways over four weeks.
For this final edit I opened the original image in Camera Raw where I increased the exposure and clarity mainly, though a few other sliders also shifted slightly. I then moved it into Photoshop Elements where I gave it a tight rectangular crop and brightened the man’s face and top by selecting and adjusting the levels as on previous edits. Once this was done I added a black and white gradient map. Next I opened the picture in PicMonkey were I added a slight dark edge and a touch of infrared to complete the edit.
Now its time to vote for your favourite edit of the month.
Here are all of the images together for comparison:
Great to see the different approaches here, I like the mono but my favourite remains the week three entry, well done!

Was confused to pick week 02 or week 03 edit. Then voted for gloominess from week 02 edit!

Well done! I love the mono but for some reason week 3 speaks to me. The texture and tone add a story feeling I find appealing!!

Week three is probably my favourite as well. I was tempted do add a texture layer to this final edit but decided against it in the end – I didn’t want it to be too similar to last week’s! I kind of wish I had now… 🙂

Hi Louise – I hesitated between Week 2 and Week 4, but in the end voted for your last edit. You can really see the man’s face well. Hey you know the last bit you did in Pic Monkey – the vignette & infra red touch – you can do in PSE?

I’ll have to have an explore and see if I can find them! I’m still learning my way around the program. 🙂 Thanks for visiting.

BW was a good choice here, it was a pretty challenging image for you I think for these few weeks 🙂 Nice job and obviously lots of learning going on!
